Show Theatre. There was a fair audience audi-ence on Saturday night at the opening performance of the season. There was very good flaying in both pieces, Messrs. McKenzie and Margetts, Miss Colebrook, Miss Adams and Miss Piatt dividing the principal honors. Some few "hitches" were observable and some scene waits, in the first piece, but these are nothing unusual on the opening open-ing night under a new management, and the public will make the necessary allowance. The farce was the "Rough Diamond," which went very spiritedly with Miss Adams as Margery and Mr-Margetts Mr-Margetts as Cousin Joe, Mr. Thompson Thomp-son as Blenheim, Mr. Bowring as Lord Plato and Miss Piatt as Lady Plato. We understand that Mr. Lyne and Mr. McKenzie will appear on Wednesday Wed-nesday night, when Knowles' great drama of "William Tell", will be presented. pre-sented. Mr. Lyne, as the pioneer tragedian of the Rocky Mountains, is so well known in this community that encomiums enco-miums from us are unnecessary. Strangers will recognize in the veteran a rcpresjntative of tho orthodox "old school" of acting. Miss Adams, the favorite actress, will appear as Albert. |
