Show Panaix-a Bullion. Hugh White, Esq., proprietor of the Southern stage line, has effected contracts, by which tho bullion from the Pioche and Meadow alley mines, amounting to some 2n,0U0 pounds monthly, will from the 1st of December bo brought by him through to this city, to be shipped by Utah Central and Union Pacific railroads. The road from Pioche to this city will take the lead over that which passes through Hamilton and strikes the Central Pacific at E'ko, fur two reasons. There is by it a saving of some eighteen days in time, as from this city bullion can reach New York in sine days, whereas it requires some twenty-eight days from Elko by Central Pacific and steamer from San Fran-C'sco. Fran-C'sco. Another reason is : The promptness prompt-ness with which the perpetrators of the late stage robbery were taken, gives a character of security to the road which is not enjoyed by the Nevada Ne-vada one ; and we may expect a large increase of travel and business by it. |
