Show By Telegraph. Terrible Explosion. Cleveland, Nov. 1. At half-past four to-day, two magazines containing 15,000 pounds of nitro glycerine exploded explo-ded at Eairport, near Painesvillc, O. Four persons were blown to atoms and buildings on the east side of the river were damaged. The shock of the explosion was felt for miles. The los3 to the glycerine company is not less than 2j,O0U. Where the magazines maga-zines stood are now two ponds of water, wa-ter, fifty feet a-jross and seventy-five feet deep. The people of Fairport are excited, as this is the second explosion of the kind within two months. Several Sev-eral buildings are damaged so that the families are obliged to vacate them. |
