Show THE SOBBBBS ROOST GANG There exists In the southeastern part of the state a gang of desperadoes that should be cleaned out if possible Only a short time ago members of this gang committed one of the most daring robberies rob-beries ever committed In any state Members of the same gang have held up a peddler onlylthis week and robbed him of some seventy odd dollars Prob i ably no one will be surprised to hear of a railroad train being held up at anytime any-time The section of country where this gang is operating is fast becoming terrorized ter-rorized Their last crime shows that they are as ready to rob a peddler as the cashier of a big corporation and they will not hesitate to rob farmers and villagers whenever It shall suit their purpose or convenience How shall all this be stopped for stopped It must be If the majesty of the law is to be maintained and the law abiding citizens protected It is very much easier to say what should be done than to do it The identity of the members ot he gang must be known and specific charges made against them before process against them can issue All this is merely preliminary to the task of beginning the enforcement enforce-ment of the law and bringing its violators vio-lators to justice That task will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be a hard one and when once it is begun there will probably be some serious trouble It may be necessary for the state itself to undertake directly direct-ly the work of completely suppressing lawlessness in the southeastern part of the state When once begun it should be done so thoroughly that there will be no recurrence of lawlessness thereIn there-In many many years The work should be done as thoroughly as General Connor Con-nor did his work of suppressing Indian troubles an the Bear river |
