during the summer Harry Ford of Dean PO near Battle Mountain Is In the city on business Mr Ford states that there Is a revival in mining mater In that section this spring and that a large amount of development de-velopment Is being done In what is known as old Lewis district Dean Is the home of the Morning Glory mine a gold propo IOn in which A force of 3 men is employed em-ployed and on which a 10stamp mill is In operation treating from 3 to 40 tons I I of good ore daily There are alsO several silver properties in that locality and on one of these the Eagle mine there is a 40stamp mill as the ore Is free milling Jr some of the mines of the camp however how-ever It Is believed that the ore could be handled to better advantage by concentration concen-tration and to determine the matter experiments periments are now being made with this process Dr E D Woodruff who has just returned re-turned from a visit to the Northern Light mine on Lion Hill states that the property prop-erty is looking well and that the new mill is ruining in a most satisfactory manner I will not be long now before the additional 2 tanks will be in place when the capacity will be materially increased in-creased The doctor states that the Little Pittsburg ground Is being surveyed for patent and that within the next few days contracts will be let for development work on both the gold and silver veins The doctor was named by the Little Pitts burg company as one of the committee to look after the selection of the site for permanent work on its group of claims and upon looking the ground over carefully care-fully he states that he Is more pleased with the property than ever and he Is saniruino that I is the making of a roclucte and paying mine and as he lies charge of the work in its development ho nroioses to see that It is done in a thorough and effective manner |
