Show p CHZCKAIiIAUGA PARK Stir Over Reported Nominations For Brigadier Generalships Chickamauga National Park Ga May Considerable sUr was created at the camp today over the announcement received re-ceived from semiofficial sources from Washington and given out by Adjutant General Sheridan that the president had named the following officers to be briga diers to command in the volunteer army the nominations probably to be sent to tho senate tomorrow Colonel A S Burt Twentyfifth infantry In-fantry Colonel A K Arnold First cavalry cav-alry Colonel Sam B Young Third cavalry Colonel Sam M Sumner Sixth cavalry Colonel John C Bates Second Infantry Colonel Guy V Henry Tenth cavalry and Colonel A R Chaffoo Third cavalry An order was Issued today by General Brooke transferring the Seventh infantry from the second to the first brigade the purpose being to equalize the brigades From this it Is taken that the First regiment pf infantry which was to come hero and become a part of the first brigade will not come I is talked of as an open secret at Camp Thomas that the Third and Sixth cavalry ate very soon to be moved to Tampa but no official confirmation could be had from the commanding officer |
