Show More About Kilday The San Francisco Chronicle had an account of the finding of Klldays body from its special correspondent in Ogden Og-den and at the end of the dispatch was the following throwing additional light on the mans life Mrs Kilday was prostrated last night when she was shown the above dispatch announcing the death of her son and her condition is pitiful in the extreme Though 75 years old and in falling health she has been compelled to seek hard manual labor for sustenance susten-ance ever since her son left her for the east four years ago Previous to his departure from San Francisco Kilday had been drinking very heavily and had been confined in the Home for Inebriates for four months He was employed by minor theatrical companies as advance agent and went to work In the same capacity capac-ity in New Yprk in the beginning of 1893 since which time his mother though she has made several attempts to locate him has heard nothing definite defi-nite of his whereabouts His wife who secured a divprce sometime some-time ago now lives with her mother Mrs Holtz at the corner of Twelfth and Mission with her child The mother will make an effort to have the body brought to this city for > urial Kilday was very well known here during the time that he operated as a theatrical agent principally through his connection with the Cecil family of comedians who were toured by him in the various cities along the Pacific coast On accqunt of his drinking habits hovvever Jie fell into disrepute and gradually lost his business connections con-nections here drifting afterward to New York where he again joined small stock companies Mrs Gllsam Kildays sister stated last night that she believed her brothers broth-ers death to be the result of an accident acci-dent and nota case of suicide He had reached Utah as advance agent for the Willis Dramatic company in November No-vember last arid was she believed earning a gooU salary in that capac city |
