Show i The South Swansea Strike I i Secretary Farnsworth of the South Swansea Mining company who has returned I re-turned from a visit to Silver City confirms i con-firms the reports concerning the recent re-cent strike made in this property cen propery I This strike was made in the G50 drift to the south and the richness of the ore has caused quite a furore in mining circles I cir-cles as the mineral is nearly pure silver sil-ver as it assays 27470 ounces in the I white metal to the ton According to Mr Farnsworth the ore occurs in a small fissure on the side of the main ore body and from a distance dis-tance it looks like a white streak on account of its purity and when first discovered no one had any idea of its value and but for a closer examination examina-tion it would have been thrown over ton II the dump Yesterday a Herald representative I called up Manager L E JIlter and was j informed by him that the strike was j an important one although its extent I I had not yet been determined I was i holding its own however as develop i ment work progressed and if anything any-thing it was growing larger The ore is being carefully saved and when it 1 i is shipped it will be almost like sending send-ing in the pure quill as there is only a little over 29000 ounces in silver to the ton Mr Riter also informed The Herald rpresentative that next to this rich streak there was a twofoot solid body of high grade ore and that the mine was looking better with every foot of xvork ment unu that was done in its develop |
