Show POLLOCKS LETTER Review of the Market For tie Past Week James A Pollock will say in his Weekly Mining Share Market Letter under date of December 6 1895 The stock market this week exhibited exhibit-ed a marked improvement over that of last and there is no doubt but that i every element in the situation has very greatly improved The desire of a majority of traders to liquidate ha apparently become exhausted The market is a good trading one and is Indeed remarkable at a season which is usually given up to adjustment rather than that of entertaining new ventures With the new year we will enter a period of activity unprecedented unprece-dented in Utah mines and stocks The Mercur gold stol s will he the boom mining securities of 1896 The present market is easy but strength will come soon Take your choice of the list at present quotations and there is a profit assured As was foretold would be the case Ajax stiffened up materially and some fair sales were made during the week with the bids advancing to 50 cents I I There is not a great deal of floating stock Alliance did practically nothing although the market was not flooded with the security holders being firm in faith The company is still driving away on the vein and the management manage-ment anticipate improved conditions with every foot of work done Preparations Prepara-tions are being made to resume operation opera-tion on the old Massachusetts property prop-erty Gas was quiet with free offerings of the stock with no takers Andhor continues along in the same old rut the dispute between the minority and majority stockholders of the Bogan is about to be decided by the courts I is hardly likely that many of the delinquents de-linquents will pay their assessments under existing conditions The stockholders stock-holders of the BullionBeck look for a Christmas present in the shape of a dividend within the next ten days A draft of onethird of the mine employees em-ployees was made during the week due to a decrease in the amount of developed ore CentennialEureka came to the fronton front-on the 2d instant with an extra double dividend of 1 per share or 30000 completing a total of 1440000 to date The regular dividend will be paid as usual on the 15th of the month But little of the stock is finding sale on the market There are rumors of coming trouble in the Comstock and very free offerings of the stock are being made by insiders The property has been closed down and it is questionable whether any vork will b done in the near future An assessment of 71 4 cents per share has been levied No news of importance from Crescent The expected shipment of ore from Dalton has not materialized as yet but may do so any day now The reports from the property confirm the previous good ones Stock is holding firm around 17 ½ cents Daly and Daly West continue in the same good old way The mill on the latter is being rapidly completed and both stocks are looked upon with favor by investors Horn Silver continues with heavy shipments of both high grade ores and concentrates Quarterly dividend of 50000 is expected on the 29th There was probably more activity in Mammoth Mam-moth than in any other stock on the lst I have repeatedly called attention atten-tion to the many good reasons jsriy the old speculative is one of the best buys in the local market and investors seem to be awakening to the fact Heavy transactions were made during advanced until the week and the price adalc unt the close which was at 125 The company com-pany is reported to be nearly out of debt and the resumption of dividends should not be very far distant Mer cur continues inactive nothing definite having been heard from DeLamar relative re-lative to the sale The experts have completed the examination and left for New York There is absolutely no trading in the stock Ontario is very dull Development of ore bodies on the Rover continues in splendid shape and the showing is becoming better daily Considerable business was done in the stock Silver King will wa pay its regular dividend of 37500 tomorrow Splendid reports continue to come from the property Returns from the mill run at the Sunshine Sun-shine are being awaited with grtat interest The management say there is no longer any question as to the successful operation of the plant and with this settled the stock becomes wih of the best buys being offered The assays of the mill tailings show no values proving that the saving of gold is practically total Quotations For the WccUe Stocks I Bid Asked x 45 50 Alliance Aja 135 150 and air compressing machinery there has been no invention of recent years that has met with the favor accorded to the Riedler system Since its introduction introduc-tion less than three years ag it has steaily won its way until at the present pres-ent time it is given the preference overall over-all other designs by those desiring to pump water or compressed air by the most economical and efficient system Messrs Frazer Chalmers who are the builders of these engines are now constructing six pumping engines and four air compressors all of very large capacities Cpacites I A convincing proof of the efficiency I of the Riedler system is shown by the fact thaI in every case where a Bled leI pump or compressor has been installed in-stalled in a district orders for similar engines have followed from those who have had opportunity to observe the work done by the pioneer plant Since the first Riedler pump was built in Butte Mont the Butte Boston company com-pany has adopted the system and the manufacturers now report an order for a large Riedler pumping plant having a capacity for 500 gallons per minute against a head of 1000 feet to be installed in-stalled in one of the Anaconda
