| Show TIlE JURY SECURED The time of the Second district court yesterday was mostly taken up with se surlng a jury In the case of Henry Allen Indicted for murder The case was sharply sharp-ly contested point for point from the beginning The examination of jurors showed that a large percentage of them have conscientious scTuples against inflicting in-flicting the death penalty Still more had formed opinions and besides be-sides these each side was entitled to fifteen fif-teen peremptory challenges The regular panel was exhausted about noon and a special venire of twenty names returnable at 2 oclock was made At about 4 oclock the jury was secured the defense having exhausted Its challenges chal-lenges The prosecution had peremptorily challenged eleven The jury which will hear the casa Is as follows B F G Williams A M Faddier T B Grundy Frank B Wilson Robert Cowan Adam Peterson E E Barton C L Darling L J 1 Bucner A L Howe Robert Majors W H Lander Allen appears quite cheerful and seems confident that he will easily establish his innocence County Attorney Weber assisted as-sisted by B C Mosby is conducting the prosecution While L R Rogers and A G Horn appear for the defense |
