| Show WEATHER A CROPS Following is the Summary of the Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin Bulle-tin of Director Smith Following Is the summary of the week ly weather and crop bulletin of Director Smith Throughout the state the weather dur lag the past week has been very favorable to agricultural Interests although a little too dry in some localities for germina tion of seeds and growth of vegetation The days were warm dry and sunny and the nights moderately cool with light rests In a few districts on the llth and 12th Thunder showers occurred on Saturday urday in Beaver Cache Iron Utah Carbon Car-bon Salt Lake Emery Piute and San etc counties and did a great deal of good In th way of sprouting grain and advancing the growth of crops In por ton of Millard Tooele Weber Rich Box Elder and Grand counties the soil Is very dry and rain is needed badly I to bring up the lateplanted grain In te lateplate por tons of Rich count the gn wheat Is looking poorly on account of the prevail Ing dryness and in other sections I will have to be watered If rain does not come soon The luccrn is fast recovering from the effects of the frost of the previous week and Is everywhere reported In excellent ex-cellent condition and making rapid growth Late reports indicate that the fruit crop was not damaged to any great extent by the recent cold snap and the outlook Is very bright for a prosperous fruit season Corn and potato planting is progressing rapidly In the central and northern sections of the state in the southern portion of the state early potatoes po-tatoes are In bloom and In the vicinity of Moab Grand county strawberries are rIpe The first cutting of lucern has commenced com-menced in Washington county |
