TO RECOVER INSURANCE Kiesel Co Sue Seven Companies For 32OOO The trial of the seven cases brousrht by Fred J Kiesel Co of Ocden against the Insurance companies who had risks o Kiesels buSldinir and stock of coeds when both were burnt on Sept 18 1S96 was begun i the United Stales district court yesterday before Judge Marshall and a Jury All th > cases a being tried together The defendant companies and the amounts claimed from each a as fol lws Sun of London 2590 Home o New Yirk 7000 Union of London 4500 Lancashire of Liverpool 3000 Franklin Frank-lin of Philadelphia 2500 Prussian National of Prussia 5OO Connecticut Connecti-cut of Hartford 57500 Total 532000 Kiesel Co placed their total loss a 4014316 and alleged that the building build-ing accidentally rug fire and the result was aimost a total loss of both building and stOk At the time the fire broke out and previous thereto 0 very high wind was f blowing in Ogden and vicinity and the Ivildiug l with many others was blown down The insurance companies raised thx pint that the building was blown uown before i causht fire and that under those circumstances they were not liable for the Insurance Heyviood Tail of Ogden and W H Dickson are the counsel for the nlaln tiff and Attorney Van Ness of San Fcic and Lindsay R Rogers represent rep-resent the various defendants The hen was proceeding at the hour of adjournment and will be resumed I re-sumed this morning
