| Show THE FLORENCE SELL j A Cyanide Plant Installed and in Operation in Skull Valley j From all indications it will not belong be-long now before cyanide mills will be in operation in nearly every camp in the west as the treatment of low grade gold and silver ores by this process Is beginning to develop into a great industry throughout the west Meteor took the lead in the utilization utiliza-tion of this process and the mills of the camp are working in a most satisfactory satis-factory manner Bingham was the nest to install a plant tiding this process pro-cess and now from every point of the compass cyanides are flowing into the market and the end Is not yet Two years ago there was considerable l talk regarding thh low grade gold ore I deposits in Skull valley in Tooele county the Croton property being the leading mine of the camp Since men however but little has been heard concerning con-cerning this district and what has been going on there but The Herald is informed that sometime ago the Florence Flor-ence Gold Mining company was incorporated in-corporated for the purpose of working the Croton mine and that in the operation of the property magnificent bodies have been uncovered and to such an extent that the company felt justified the erection of a small mill I which has been done the plant having i I a capacity of treating 25 tons of ore I daily SIn S-In the construction of the mill the I company purchased the old crusher i once used by the Geyser company at I ilercur and the tanks were made in II this city The company is now making its initial in-itial run the tanks having been filled for the first time on the 14th of September Ii hee g J tember last and it is expected that the cleanup will be made within about ten days when the results of the test I run will be fully known and It is believed be-lieved that it will be most satisfactory as it has been shown by exhaustive experiments 1 ex-periments that the ore yields readily to the cyanide process I S With the success of the Florence mill 1 I it is more than likely that other reduction I re-duction works on the same plan will i be established in the district and more now that It Is being demonstrated that small mills can be run successfully on low grade ores there is no reason why poor men the owners of small properties prop-erties should not erect little plants on their properties oven if they are notable not-able to treat more than five or ten tons of ore dally |
