| Show S THE MERCUR TOWXSITE Colorado Capitalist Figuring on I Great Undertaking A few days ago The Herald mentioned men-tioned exclusively that a big deal had been consummated whereby Edwin W Senior who ha a reputation of being successful in all of his big undertakings undertak-ings had brought about a deal the consummation of which will vest the title to the townsite of Mercur and the two mining claims on which the town of Mercur is located in the name of Colorado capitalists who would combine com-bine the townsite and mining interests form a company and proceed to open up one of the greatest mines in the dIstict right in the heart of this wonderful won-derful camp which is located squarely on the ore zone of that region So quietly has the matter been carried car-ried on that but few knew that one of the interested parties had been 1 er visited Mercur given his hearty approval ap-proval of the enterprise and returned to Colorado to make the necessary arrangements rangements to carry on the project I whldh is one of magnificent proportions propor-tions and one which if carried out means much for Mercur and the min ng interests of the district On the strength of the above report 3 Herald representative called on Mr Senior and urged him to disclose the details of the transaction but he seemed indifferent and refused either t affirm or deny the rumor From other sources however it oter i was learned that Salt Lake parties had made an effort to figure in the transaction trans-action and were anxious to go ahead with the enterprise but that their proposition was received two hours too late as the papers had been lace in escrow and forfeit money put up by the representative of the Colorado syndicate a short time previous As soon as the company is organized L5 i is proposed to erect a good plant and sink for ore on one of the claims on which the townsite of Mercur is platted and i is the general understanding that Mr Senior will have the handling of the town lotS under this new management man-agement while the Coloradoans will push the mining portion of the scheme I is to be hoped that the enterprise will be one carried out as i is a meritorious |
