| Show MUTUAL IMPROVEflENT A Large Attendance Jit the Opening Last Evening The Mutual Improvement league held a grand opening last night in their new quarters in the old Social ball on State street from 7 until 10 oclock The hal has been entirely renovated and the front part downstairs is now fitted up as a readingroom and library I brary while in the rear handsome baths have been added for the convenience con-venience of the members Upstairs the gymnasium las been newly furnished with 1 the latest apparatus until it is a credit to both the city and the organization Fully two hundred visitors inspected the rooms and enjoyed the delightful < pro gramme that had been arranged Twelve of the young ladies attired in neat gymnasium suits gave an ex hbition with wands Indian clubs and foils While a number of the more expert went through creditable exer ciffs on the rings and parallel bars The organization is a branch of the Young Mens and Young Ladies Mutual Mu-tual Improvement league The dues are but 6 a year and asa as-a consequence the memberFihip is growing fast and will undoubtedly soon be filled Miss Babcock with Miss Putnam and Miss Taylor are the instructors of the ladies classes while Mr Zehenter > has charge of the classes for gentlemen The classes are arranged as follows Ladies Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 a m and 4 p m The public school teachers Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays at6 p m Children Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p m and Saturdays at 1030 a m Gentlemen Every evening at 7 p m The advantages to be gained in the Mutual Improvement league are set forth as follows folows The best gymnasium and apparatus in the state Unexcelled teachers of physical culture and athletics Female instructors in athletics for the ladles and male for the gentlemen Regular i I classes in physical culture to suit every one Elegantly fitted bathrooms bath-rooms open daily except Sunday Pri vate locker for clothing etc Library i and readingroom furnished with the I choicest books and periodicals Lectures tures by the most prominent speakers of Utah Bible reading and religious instruction Social enjoyment under the most refining influences Practice in public speaking Instruction In various branches of education and brnches educaton refinement re-finement These and other advantages for 56 per year 7 less than the annual cost of weekly bath Visitors invited t see classes and Inspect our accommodations accom-modations Anyone of good moral character may join Our Motto Physical Phy-sical Mental and Moral Development |
