Show PROHIBITIONISTS Eighth National Convention to Beheld Be-held at Pitt O nrsr PITTS eRG April 12The eighth Prohibition Pro-hibition national convention which will convene here next month promises to be the most largely attended of any yet held by that party The delegates already accredited exceed the number originally expected twentyhve states having their number regular delegates who will attend at-tend but the local committee of arrangements arrange-ments promises the best of entertainment for all delegates and visitors The Pacific Pa-cific coast will be particularly well represented repre-sented The California delegation has arranged for a special train to come right through It will be handsomely decorated and be christened the California Prohibition Prohi-bition special New England will also run a special from Boston under control ofF of-F W Clark secretary of the state committee com-mittee of Massachusetts Chairman H L Castle of the local committee will deliver an address of welcome to the national convention Mr Castle who is a narrow gauge platform man says the party will poll a million votes this year i the right kind of platform is adopted The contest In the convention over the platform plat-form will certainly be warm as both the narrow and broad gauge factions have able men to champion them The candidates for the presidency so far are Joshua Levering of Baltimore C E I Bentley Lincoln Neb George W Bain of Lexington Ky and W H Thompson Springfield Ohio I I Sprngpld The railroads have given a half fare I rate to those attending the convention |
