the Koads An Ovation For Debs In the Local Field Tho Latest By Wire The traffic officials representing the transMlissouri lines are still hammering hammer-ing away upon matters preliminary to settlement of the rate controversy They met again in regular session yesterday morning at 930 a m and from that hour until 1 oclock when the committee from the Utah Jobbers association appeared before them but i little was indulged in save the usual cross fire debate carried on from the beginning But of course all great bodies move slowly and the preliminaries prelimina-ries cannot be crowded out Promptly at 1 the Jobbers committee commit-tee appeared and at once proceeded to define their position so far as discrimination discrimi-nation was at present being carried onto on-to their detriment and the people of this section generally Nearly all the members mem-bers of the comnittee addressed the meeting and their arguments set forth in brief are said by all the traffic men to denote study and reparation in the premises Their arguments were clear and pointed even if not wholly convincing to all representing the different interests inter-ests involved The committee then withdrew until such time as the association asso-ciation might have something tangible tangi-ble to offer in the way of a solution of the present rate difficulty as existing between the lines wihen they desire to again come before them Adjournment i was then taken un t 2 p m The afternoon session lasted over I two hours and was in no way prolific I of the progress some expected would be made There were a number of questions ques-tions put forward by one side and the other resulting in argument without issue Clearcut and definite propositions have not as yet developed in the meeting meet-ing and all that has been said and done may be said to be purely preliminary prelim-inary and only looking towards a vulnerable vul-nerable point of attack I would appear that the different interests are bent on adding to their reserve power to be used in final adjudication if such is brought about art ithis time I A detailed report of the discussion so far within the meeting cannot be of special interest to the public at ithis time and may not be later on i the labors are carried on conscientiously and faithfully to a close or until the association rises and reports progress at least They Avill go into
