| Show MEXICAN CATTLE May Be Admitted Into the United btutcs For Grazing and Iinmcdi ntc Slaughter WASHINGTON Sept 27Secretary Morton has issued art order directing that from and after October 22 next cattle may be admitted into the United and States from Mexico for grazing for immediate slaughter through the ports of San Diego Nogales El Paso Eagle Pass Brownsville and the sub of port of Laredo The admission these cattle is permitted subject to inspection in-spection by an inspector of the bureau of animal industry and no cattle will be admitted which are affected with or which have been exposed to the contagion con-tagion of any disease liable to be disseminated dis-seminated among the domestic animals in the United States The importer must produce evidence satisfactory to the inspector that his cattle had not been exposed to contagion during a period of ninety days previous to the importation Cattle imported into the district of the United States known as Texas or splenetic fever district will be subject to all regulations applying to the na al tive cattle of that district Cattle imported im-ported into other sections of the United States previous to December 1 1895 must have been Tield for three months free from Texas fever infection o the stats of Sonora and Chihuahua and will be subject to the laws and rules and regulations of the states and territories and regulatons I ritories into which they are taken and also subject to such regulation of the agricultural department as may from time to time be made The formal entry en-try of the cattle and the application for inspection must be made at the places mentioned in this order The cattle will be allowed to cross the boundary at such points as may be agreed upon by the collector o customs cus-toms of the district and inspector of the agricultural department as to the proper and convenient point for inspection in-spection |
