INVESTIGATIONS IS ENDED Professor Carn of the Cement Com pnny Has Returned Professor Cams oC the Utah Portland Cement company is back from his eastern east-ern investigating trip and within the next few days he will make a formal report re-port of tho result of his work while circulating among the cement works of the extreme Mt to the board of directors di-rectors of the company Some days ag The Herald stated that the company had decided to substitute a new kiln for that used during the runs last summer and it was for the purpose of Inspecting all the I plants in operation thai the professor went east operaton not empowered to I make the purchase of a new kiln but upon his suggestions the board of direc tors will act favorably and the Improvements Improve-ments at the local plant should bs mud within the next month or two and when made the company will be in 8 position to manufacture Portland cement from native material which will be the equaji of any of the imported cuaj The kiln i Y was first put In did not give satisfaction none of the burnings being what they should have been I is an English furnace and It Is now proposed pro-posed by the company to put in one of American make as that class of kilns are now giving great satisfaction wherever wher-ever used
