WHEEL NOTES NOTESf i At the regular meeting of the Social Wheel club held Wednesday night President Stein tendered his resignation resigna-tion as president of the club This acton ac-ton he explained was taken on account ac-count of the fact that his business duties du-ties have become so pressing as to prevent his giving the club matters proper attention His successor will b elected at tho next regular meeting Three applications for membership were received and balloted reive baloted upon The prizes for the Decoration day road race will b on exhibition in the window of J P Gardners store today There are three time prizes in addition to the novice time prize and thirteen place prizes malting a total of seventeen seven-teen The first time prise and the first place prize are highgrade bicycles and well worth trying for Papa Smith says the prizes for the afternoon track races at Calders park wi be placed in some window the latter lat-ter part of this week or the first par of next week He says that there has been so much trouble in the past on account ac-count of riders being unable to get prizes won that he proposes to let the men see what they are riding for A P Senior says that he would not be able to give proper attention to the matters of the C A CC In case ho were offered the position a representative I representa-tive of the California racing board The Social Wheel club have accepted the challenge of the Opal club for a ball game to take place In the near future Both clubs have purchased the neces sary paraphernalia of balls bats maiks gloves etc and practice practce games will be indulged in by both clubs In preparation for the championship game I Is said that Hughey will be in the box for the Opals
