Show PAYSON BOY KilLED 4 Mystery Surrounds the Death of George Tanner 4 HIS DEAD BODY FOUND HAD A BULLET HOLE THOUGH TH NCK 4 Was Discovered at a Sheep Camp Near Evanston But Whether a the Hurder Suicide or Accident Circumstances Do Not Disclose Body Taken to Payson 4 George Loray Tanner aged 19 of Payson was found dead at a sheep camp ten miles north of Evanston Wyo early Wednesday morning A bullet hole through his neck disclosed the cause of death though it failed to give any clue to the circumstances surrounding sur-rounding it Young Tanner was seen by an acquaintance ac-quaintance on Tuesday afternoon He was then in good spirits and apparently satisfied with himself and the world On the following morning he was found dead on the prairie His watch and money were on his person and there was nothing to indicate that a murder had been committed The news was taken to Evanston and an official inquiry in-quiry begun by the coroner of Uinta county whose jury brought in a verdict of accidental killing The young mans people were notified and Mr Tanner went to Evanston for i the body of his son He returned yesterday I yes-terday In discussing the sad occurrence occur-rence with a Herald reporter he said he I was utterly unable to comprehend how I the boy was killed whether by himself I or by some others hand either designedly I de-signedly or by accident He couldnt have held the gun himself he said gn for his neck is not powder burned at I all Te ball struck him fair in the center cen-ter of the throat and passed out the back of his neck So far as I have been able to learn he was well physically phys-ically and in a contented frame of mind He was working for a man named Grayblll in whose employment he has been since April 19 Mr Tanner said that the circum crcum stances of his sons death were very peculiar and he quoted an Evanston ofllcial as sharing the same opinion However he did not voice a belief that the young man had been killed On the contrary he referred to his lack of enemies I en-emies and the fact that nothing he I owned had been disturbed The death in his opinion is a mystery that will always I al-ways remain such I son The remains will be interred at Pay |
