| Show SHORT LINE PROJECT The Main Line to Be Emit Through Boise at Once + MOVE IS OF IMPORTANCE 4 MEANS CONSTRUCTION OF THIB TY MILES OF ROAD + Party of Engineers Will Be Sent Out Early Next Week Undertaking Was Decided Upon During Recent Trip of Mr Harriman Over the Line t A most important project involving the construction of thirty miles of new road and the placing of Boise upon the main line has been decided upon by the management of the Oregon Short Line A party of engineers is being organized in Salt Lake for the purpose of making the necessary surveys and doing the preliminary work They will leave for Boise early next week and the work will be pushed so that Boise people will hear the daily whistle of the through trains in the near future The matter I was finally and definitely decided when the Harriman party passed over that part of the line last week At present Boise is situated twenty miles off the main line and it will be necessary to build thirty miles of track to make the main line pass through that city This is the work that has been decided upon and i will be pushed to completion It will not only benefit the people of Boise but will straighten Out the main line considerable thus enabling en-abling the railroad to make better time between Pocatello and Huntington This news will be hailed with joy by the people of Boise as they have been fighting and working to be put on the main line for many years and now that their dreams are about to be realized re-alized they will appreciates the spirit of progress that animates the Short Line management i This Boise move and the St Anthony branch will make seventy miles of new road to be constructed the present year involving the expenditure of many hundreds hun-dreds of thousands of dollars and giving giv-ing employment to a host of workmen work-men There could be no better evidence I of the roads prosperity |
