PINNACLE JIM KILLED Spokane Mig Nan Attacked H Friend While Drunk Spokane Wash March 2SA Loomis Loom-is Wash special to the Spokesman Review Re-view says James OConnel better known to the mining world as Pinnacle Pin-nacle Jim was shot and killed at 9 oclock this evening He has been in Spokane all winter and returned here a short time ago with a ewert who came to examine his mine for Patrick Clark He had been drunk and had some trouble with John OHerrn a well known and respected resident It is said OConnel threatened OHerrins life He asked OHerrin to step outside a saloon A few minutes later three saoon shots were fred in quick succession and later a fourth NobodY saw the shooting but when the door was cien ed OConnel was dead with his esd against the door OHerrin who had also bee drinking claims that OCon nell sprang at him wih a knife and he fired in selfdefense The men have always been warm friends
