The New and the Old G R Belnap yesterday took charge of the sheriffs office and three of his deputies T H Ballantyne R T Harris and Rob Chambers were confirmed Belnap has held the place before and is known to the newspaper men as are all of his deputies People having business as this office will be assured of courteous treatment such as has been in vogue under the outgoing regime re-gime Newt Farr the newly elected county clerk will indeed find it hard to surpass sur-pass J P Ledwidge in courtesy to all comers but he together with his deputies depu-ties F D Higginbothan Sam Myers Thomas B Farr and Will Hamer bid fair to equal the outgoing members of that important office in courtesy and fair dealing Charley Hollings worth will remain with Farr for the present at least and the young ladies of the clerks office will likewise remain re-main A J Weber as county attorney has been quietly superseded by another equally courteous gentleman Joseuh S Peery The new recorder they say is no improvement on the former one because be-cause Tyler cannot be improved on even by himself All in all the way of the news gatherer the attorney and all others having business with the county officials of-ficials will from present appearances be cast in pleasant places so far sis court and county matter are concerned
