| Show A HANDSOME SEND OFF I Z C M I Gives Subsf auiial Recognition Recogni-tion to Home Enterprise THE GRANT SOAP COS PLANS They Trill Put Four Kinds of Soap on the Marliot This Week and Defy Eastern East-ern Competition Zions Cooperative Mercantile Institution Institu-tion has just given a substantial recognition recogni-tion to a new home enterprise in a manner man-ner characteristic of that great institution institu-tion The home enterprise in question is the Grant Soap company a notice of whose incorporation appeared in THJS HERALD some days ago The company is now turning out soap at a rapid rate every day and during the past week it has furnished samples oi both laundry and toilet soaps to dealers in the city The result has been more than satisfactory satisfac-tory and Z C M I were so much pleased with the new product that they at once gave an order for 500 boxes of the laundry soap The Soap company will inaugurate anew a-new plan of placing their goods before the pnblic early this week they will make a house to house canvass and ask every housewife in tho city to buy 25 cents worth of the laundry soap they feel so confident of the superiority of their goods that they only ask each family whom their solicitors approach to give the soap one fair test by washing with it a piece of flannel goods and if it is not found as represented they say they will expect no patronage If on the contrary the goods are found up to what the company claim they a > k the public when they order or-der soap hereafter to insist on having these goods and to take no other They also ask our local dealers to place a small order with their wholesale grocers in order or-der that their patrons may have a chance to test these goods against all others THe Grant Soap company will manufacture manufac-ture two kinds of laundry soap one called the Coop and the other the Beehive Bee-hive The latter will be sold to all jobbers job-bers while the former is made exclusively for Z C 111 Both soaps however are equal in merit only the wrappers and brands being different They will also turn out two brands of toilet soap the White Windsor and The Glycerine both of which are the equals of anything sold in the drug stores they are put up in dainty wrappers and exquisitely perfumed per-fumed the toilet soaps as well as the laundry soaps will be on the local market next week Speakine to a HERALD reporter of the new enterprise yesterday Mr B F Grant the manager said We have every reason to feel encouraged at the outlook We did not go into the soap business until we had given the new patent process a thorough test and satisfied satis-fied ourselves not only that we could compete with eastern goods in price and quality but that we could lay down for the same money an absolutely superior quality of soap We have received substantial sub-stantial recognition already from several leading houses and Z CltI I who have already tested the goods have shown their faith in them by an order for 500 boxes as a starter The Grant Soap company now has in hand the clans for a factory to cost from 8000 to 10000 The laud is already purchased and is located on Third West street between Seventh and Eighth South being communicated with by a Union Pacific switch The capacity of the factory will be 300 boxes a day when in running order The officers of the Grant Soap company comprises the following fol-lowing gentlemen F A Grant president presi-dent John Henry Smith vice president and Heber Jo Grant secretary and treasurer treas-urer and these with B S Grant and J H Grant comprise the board of directors B F Grant will be the business manager of the new concern On every hand nothing but high words of praise are heard for the companys goods and there is no reason why it should not be a strong I success from the beginning |
