Show International Convention Y M 3 C A INDIANAPOLIS May 13 The international inter-national convention of the Young Mens Christian association met in final session today The session was occupied with written reports from conference committees commit-tees on nermanent organization and rending rend-ing papers Among other resolutions was one condemning con-demning the proposal to open the Worlds fair gales with a change of admission ad-mission fee as an evasion and unworthy of a lawabiding people and requesting President Cleveland to have the attorney general take such legal steps as are necessary nec-essary to prevent a violation of the act of Congress The committee on permanent organization organiza-tion recommended that the next convention conven-tion be arranged by the international committee and that it be located east of Ohio During the afternoon session the president presi-dent of the convention called attention to the fact ol the presence of General Harrison Har-rison and John Wanamaker and appointed ap-pointed a committee to escort them to the platform On being introduced the expresideni made an interesting speech on the great good to be accomplished by the Y M C A and said he recalled with pride that the first institution he was ever president of was the Indianapolis Y M C A Mr Wanamaker said he always fell rich when he remembered that he owned the founders share in the Young Mens Christian association and i President Harrison was proud of his record as association asso-ciation president he was proud of the fact that he was the first association zen eral secretory |
