"In Utah, we do have and continue to have one of the highest literacy rates in the county," DEA Executive Director Dee Burningham told commissioners. "WE HAVE a high percentage percen-tage of our people who graduate gradu-ate from high school. We have a high amount of education and a high quality of education." Mr. Burningham said the county's drop-out rate "is very low," and added that the percentage of students who are eligible for school "is up to 93 percent." Mr. Burningham said studies stu-dies on Davis County and Utah students show that "our students stu-dents perform significantly better" than those in other parts of the country.
