Show Some Sidewalks tm SinRirti : In Woods Cross By MARK D. MICKELSEN WOODS CROSS The sidewalks of Woods Cross are sinking. AND SOME City officials think it might be a good idea to look at the problem as soon as possible. Mayor Lawrence Urry said Tuesday that some of the city's subdivision areas are particularly plagued by the problem. He said certain sections of cement have sunk into the ground so bad people walking along the sidewalk stub their toes. COUNCILMAN Ralph Argyle said there is a possibility that the bowed sections of concrete could be hoisted up by crane long enough for city crews to fill the depression with Till dirt. Mayor Urry suggested the organization of a citywide repair program aimed at upgrading up-grading the community's sidewalks. The . program, he told council members, could begin as early spring. '- HE SAID there is a drastic need for the ' city to take care of those problem areas as soon as possible. There are some other areas of bad sidewalk side-walk which have got to be taken care of before spring, the mayor added. COUNCILMAN Gerald Jenson said he knows of at least 18 pieces of bad sidewalk that will have to be repaired. . The problem areas are located in some of the city's outlying subdivisions and in those residential areas adjacent to 800 West. WHILE NO decision was made, the council appeared supportive of Mayor Urry 's plan for a citywide sidewalk renovation renova-tion project. . .. j " v v' c, l - . |
