| Show Mining in Cache Valley s A correspondent of the Rattan writes While this subject is attracting so much attention by the readers of your esteemed paper allow me to suy a few words on that subject Having spent considerable time prospecting at various points in Cache I am fully convinced by the numerous crop pings that large bodies of mineral exists in this vicinity and all that is lacking is i well directed labor backed with means to bring it forth True two or three individuals individ-uals have spent considerable labor and means but for the want of experience it has not been spent in the right direction The Mammoth mine in which I am interested Inter-ested is an instance of the kind we hired a man to work It at so much ler QQau for some reason he cut through the veins I 1 instead of sinking on them and drifted j past them Last fall I took a man of experience ex-perience to see the mine and when less than half way in the tunnel we discovered a group of four good mineral veins which are not more than one foot apart from which the samples I have and those in the window of Riter Bros store were taken We have another claim at tho north end of the Valley which is a different differ-ent formation being copper stained quartz carrying copper silver and gold Having done our assessmeht work on this we are now opening up the Mammoth with a view of raising means to develop the other I have every reason to believe there are rich deposits of the precious metal in these hills but for want of pecuniary aid the poor prospector is unable to develop them Logan Notion |
