Show emir TnnrmrTnvr i m WORK SELECTMEN AT A Special Tax Levy on the Thirty Fifth School District A Sugar House Road to Bo Widened Search for a Paupers Son Miscellaneous Mis-cellaneous Business The county court met at 10 oclock yesterday yes-terday morning with all members present pres-ent and transacted business as follows W B Ennis et at sent in a petition asking that the county court assist the citizens of Draper and Alpine in constructing con-structing a road between the two places It was stated that the two settlements had already expended 1000 in the enterprise including 6340 appropriated by the county court of Utah county and the Draperites and their friends have raised 350 more to be paid in labor Hence their desire that Salt Lake county shall also take a hand in the enterprise The petition was filed FIFTY DOLLARS WIDER John R Smith appeared in relation to condition of the road in Sugar House ward and the need of its being widened and it was ordered that f50 be allowed as a consideration for the purchase of certain round in Grand View addition for the purpose of widening the said road at the point named The clerk was instructed to request Harry Haines to put in a flume not less than 16 feet long at a point on the county road near his addition I TAXATION FOR INTEREST The trustees of school district No 35 appeared ap-peared and asked that the court levy a tax in order that their district might pay the interest on their bonds and the following fol-lowing resolution was adopted Whereas It is represented to the county court by the trustee ot school district No 35 of Salt Lake county thatsaid district on the 15tb day of December 1832 voted to issue bonds of said district to the amount of 1750 in pursuance pur-suance of article 14 of an act of the governor legislative assembly of the territory of and Utah entitled an act to provide for a uniform system of free schools throughout Utah approved ap-proved March 10 169i and the bonds of said pr district have been issued and sold in tba amount of SI 750 in pursuance of said vote and that said trustees have neglected to levy a tax in accordance with tho law to pay the interest on said bonds now therefore be it Resolved That in pursuance of the provisions of section 96 of the act aforesaid there be and is hereby levied by the county court of Salt Lake county upon all of the taxable property in said district a tax of two mills on the dollar of the assessed valuation of the property of said district which taxfihall be assessed and collected for the year 1893 at the same time and in the same manner as other taxes for said year And the clerk of this court hereby di leoted to transmit forthwith to the county assessor i fJ tfhihe gl lns odng sessor a duly certified copy of this resolution The county physician reported patients in the various hospitals as follows St Marys 3 Deseret 6 total 9 Filed J H Young of the Union Pacific railway rail-way sent in a communication to the effect that the crossplanks at Draper had been replaced Filed The bond and application of Mary Moyer of Sandyfor liquor license were granted and approved COULDNT FINJ > DAVID Ihe citation on David Searle was returned re-turned to the sheriff for further search The court is desirous of learning why David Da-vid doesnt supporthis father who is at present an inmate of the infirmary Action on the i and of I M Barrat 1 game and fish commissioner was de ferred The clerk was instructed to notify tardy I presiding judges of the different precincl to send in the returns of the bond election at once The petition of J J Snell for relief from an error in a redemption certificate was granted and it was ordered that 1330 be appropriated for that purpose upon tho next appropriation day A HEAVY CASH TRANSFER The clerk was authorized to pay eighty cents into the treasury which he received from Utah county growing out of an error made by the territorial board of equalization in submitting assessment of railroads Adjourned for one week |
