Show IRISH NATIONAL LEAGUE i I Proceedings Marked byfn Conciliatory tory Spirit Liverpool May 12The irish National league of Great lan held Its annual convention here today and the outcome promises to be of great Importance a it was decided to attempt to < heal the differences the Irish tar ences existing in Irsh parliamentary party Mr T P < r nor slit nf the rue occupied the chair John Dillon Timothy lleai > iiu o > uei anviiirneiuius were present The report of the past year was presented and adopted It showed a I favorable condition of aftaiis Timothy Healy made a conciliatory speech in the course of which he said everybody agreed that the majority must rule but he declared he was opposed to the idea that the meeting should be se ret He believed the question might be settled by the holding of a national convention Mr Dillon also spole saying he agreed with Mr Healy that all matters of national na-tional Importance should be discussed publicly pub-licly but he held that charges between the factions of the party should be considered con-sidered in private Mr Dillon said he would gladly apologize to Mr Healy I for anything he had said or done In the pest if such nfnh apology would tend to heal the troubles Continuing I i Mr Dillon said the party was in critical times but the government had been loal to Its pledges The action of the Farnel lites in opposing the government was deplorable de-plorable Such a course If persisted In would only result in the substitution of a I government by Mr Ualfour or Lord Salisbury A resolution was adopted by an overwhelming over-whelming majority delaring that the dissension dis-sension of the party snould be brought to an end Mr OConnor was reelected president by an almost unanimous vote From beginning to end the proceedings were marked 1y > a conciliatory spirit |
