Show PURPOSE OF THE ROYALISTS What Parkor Thinks of the Destiny of the Islands San Francisco Jan 31Samuel Parker member of exQueen Llliuo kalanis cabinet sailed today for Honolulu Hon-olulu after spending several weeks here on private business Before leaving the city he gave the Examiner a letter to the American people which may be a stern authoritative authori-tative statement of the purpose of the royalists of his country Parker who signes himself premier of Hawaii defends de-fends the monarchy and says all progress gress of the islands was made during the period of constitutional monarchy from 1838 to 1893 He denied that the rule of the public men was corrupt The Hawaiians he says were satisfied with their government and when given an opportunity to express their opinions will decide by an overwhelming over-whelming majority in favor of the I queen When the time comes for the tme I Hawaiians to declare their decision I they will be found ready for the declaration de-claration Parker adds The ultimate destiny of Hawaii is that it will become associated with the United States by a protective treaty and that no foreign country other than the United States will have a voice In the affairs but the time is not yet ripe for the fulfillment ment of that destiny He declares that the United States can do but one of two things either it will restore the < meen tC the throne or else leave the settlement of the poli tIc of Hawaii to the people of Hawaii Ha-waii Whichever course the United I States may pursue I Is certain the outcome will be satisfactory |
