Show TH THIBD BEAMNG Solons Consider the Revised Ordinances Several Blocks Excluded From the Fire Limits The Liquor License Poll Tax Park Commissioners The city council met last evening and continued tho third reading of the ordinances ordi-nances The following communication was received from the inspector of buildings A GOOD IDEA GENTLEMEN hereby recommend that blocks 93 94 05 86 97 98 and 63 inclusive in plat A that part ot block 61 in plat C blooks 13 1 15 and 16 in plat D blocks and 2 in plat J bo hereby excluded from the fire limits as In my judgment it Is not necessary that these blocks above mentioned be in the fire limits as It 1 nearly all residence property Respectfully A L HAMLIN Inspector of Buildings It was so ordered I THE LIQUOR LAW i It was moved that section 20 in chapter 22 on licenses be amended so as to read as follows No one in person or by his or her agent bartender or employee shall manufacture aol give away or deal out or otherwise dispose of any spirituous vinous malt or other intoxicating liquors without first obtaining from the city council a license therefor as hereinafter provided The matter was postponed indefinitely THERE WAS A CONFLICT Section 2 of chapter 29 on poll tax was amended by leaving tbe section as it was originally and striking out an amendment made upon the first reading said amendment amend-ment being in conflict with the territorial law The first amendment took from the county court the right to designate public highways within or running through the city PARK COMMISSIONERS The new park ordinance creating a board jl of park commiSSIoners to look after Liberty park and other grounds belonging to the city was read and on motion of Lawson I was substituted for the present ordinance on Liberty park TO A PERMANENT GRADE The recorder was ordered to notify the street supervisor this morning to immediately imme-diately have the intersection of Main and First South streets brought down to a permanent grade including crosswalks at Richards street and in front of the Culmer block on First South streets day The evening council then adjourned until Wednes |
