Show PUBLIC HEALTH The American Association of Sanitarians in Convention An International JleJicl Association Also Meets au1 tt fWD Bodies Will Have JointDiscussions CITY OF MEXICO Nov 2Speclaij Tho American Public Health association which numbers among its members tho most important sanitary authorities in this I country Mexico and Canada will be in I I session here four days During that time an International Medical congress will also II meet and the two bodies will have joint discussions The medical congress which meets here is however not to ho confounded i con-founded with the great body which holds its annual meeting in Rome next year The morning sessions of the American Public Health association will be held in the hall of the chamber of deputies the afternoon sessions will be held in tbe large hall of tbe preparatory school on San Oidefonso street The city government will entertain the association one evening a local society another an-other evening one day following tho meeting meet-ing an excursion will ba made to observe the great work now nearly completed for the drainage of tha valley of Mexico and another day will be devoted to an excursion excur-sion for sightseeing in and about the City of Mexico Porfirlo Dinz the eminent president of the republic ot Mexico will give a reception to the association at the famous castle of Cbapultepoc Members will be invited to witness the ceremonies attending the rainauguration of President Diaz on the morning of December tat A committee of American ladies residents of j the City of Mexico has been organized for the purpose of entertaining all the ladies who may attend from the United States and Canada Tho engagements and excursions excur-sions at the City of Mexico will bo so arranged ar-ranged as not to interfere with the regular work of the association The delegates inciudo ExPresident McCormick of the National Board of Health association Surgeon General Wy man and Dr Kenyon of the marine hospital hos-pital > service Dr Smart and Captain Long of the urmy Medical Director Gi hon and Surgoon Ames of the navy a representative of the bureau of American republics a representative of the agriculture agricul-ture department and Mr Robinson inspector inspec-tor of plumbing of this city Nearly all of of these gentlemen will read papers on matters mat-ters relating to contagious and infectious j diseases and it is expootod that the association I 1 associa-tion will give much attention to tho recent I cholera epidemic in Europe and the best sanitary arrangements to be adopted with regard to it A Misoionarv Congress LONDON Nov 28fSpeciaij The Wesleyan I Wes-leyan missionary congress for Great Britain Brit-ain meets herd today and will be memorable memora-ble because of the fact that Henry A Stanley tho African explorer is tlo announced an-nounced to preside |
