Show IN POLICE CIRCLES THE THREE YOUTHFUL TOURISTS FROM COLORADO DISCHARGED The Youths Resumed 1 Their Journey to the Pacific Coast Last Night Other Cases Disposed of Business fell off materially yesterday in the police court and none of the cases called for investigation were of any importance and but little interest inter-est Albert Roseberry Jesse Roseberry and George Wilson the three Colorado boys who were taken out of a Rio Grande Western box car on Monday night were arraigned on the charge of burglary The prosecution did not desire de-sire to take up the case as the offense if any had been committed was without with-out the jurisdiction of the court the car having been entered by the lads at Helper Justice Smith decided to interrogate the youthful defendants however and elicited from them practically prac-tically the same story as given in The Herald yesterday morning The Rose berry boys are from New Castle Colorado Colo-rado where they have been working on a farm with their father They left the Colorado town some three weeks ago in company with Wilson who is from Aspen and headed for Sacramento Sacra-mento California where their mother resides Box cars have furnished them berths on the western trip At Helper they opened a box car attached to a westbound freight and came on to Salt Lake While in transit they opened a box of candy to secure something to cat and gathered up some loose cakes of soap The court administered some good advice and released the boys who last night continued their trip westward west-ward although sans cash or food William Carlisle Gus Olsen and Gus Johnson were each given five days for being drunk while John Jenkins forfeited for-feited 55 for the same offense J Anderson charged with being drunk and obtaining meals under false pretenses was found guilty and given five day J H Smith was arraigned on the charge of being drunk and disturbing the peace and found not guilty He was discharged and the 10 declared forfeited on Monday was refunded Heber Stayner and James Madison were arrested on the charge of cruelty to animals and will have a hearing this afternoon |
