Show WARD TELLS HIS STORY Why He Son ht to IC diinp His Ow Flesh and lllood Webster Mass Sept 14 Ferdinand Ward the exbanker who is charged with the attempted abduction of his 10year old son was seen by a Associated Press reporter to whom he related his version of the affair He stated that while he was in Sing Sing i his wife made a will bequeathed Clarence her entire i to their son naming Mr Wards brother as guardian of the child Before Mr Wards release Mrs Ward die and Wards brother being on an extended European tour the property went Into the hands of the public administrator who imme diately named F I Green of Thompson hompsn Conn as guardian allowing him about 0 a year for the boys support and education Upon his releas from Sing Sing Wad a notified by Green that he might have possession of the boy but he was not then situated so he could give him a suitable home Later however when he had settled in Brooklyn where lIe is now employed as an accountant Jhe sent for his son and Green flatly re re fused to felve up the boy Ward has made repeated attempts to secure Greens consent but fallld and being determined to get the child in his own hands then lamc and helped to execute the abduction abduc-tion which will give him what he claims is the legal right of guardianship of his own son The property amounting to over 75000 at the time of Mrs AXards death wO placed in control of the Holland Trust company of New York and still remains there Ward declares that lie wH rans tinue his efforts to secure possession of his son until he is successful |
