Show An Indian Wrecker of Trains Shot LAS VEGAS N 1 Dec 3Special telegram t THE HERALD At Waldo this side of Wallace Wal-lace an Indian was shot last evening by a guard who had been employed to watch the tracks of I the Atchison company As detailed in THE HERALD some weeks ago efforts have been made to wreck Atchison trans The pueblo Indians of San Domingo were thought to be the guilty ones the reason being that trains had killed some of their stock and they thought they had not been paid enough for them The im crents had jammed pieces of iron into the frogs of switches and piled stones I and other obstructions one track Some weeks ago Superintendent Dyer and tho pueblo agent John H Robertson had a conference with the Indian head men and the latter declared de-clared that the Indians had nothing to do with the outrages The railroad company then employed em-ployed a guard to watch the track and last night he caught the Indian rolling stones upon tho track As the latter didnt want t be arrested ar-rested the guard was compelled to shoot The Indian was wounded in the abdomen |
