Show THE SILVER OUTLOOK Carter Says the Honse in not Ready for Free Coinage SENATOR FARWELL OF ILL Favors Silver anti the Preservation of tlipi National Bank Sj stem and the Aboli lion of SubTreasuries WASHINGTON June 3Special telegram to TUE HERALD It is not improbable that tho House will proceed to the consideration of the silver bill within the next four days Representative Carter of Montana says the House is not prepared to pass a free coinage measure Mr Carter who represents repre-sents one of the greatest silver states in the country and who is naturally in strong sympathy with the silver interests of the west says that he is too good a friend of those people to advocate a measure which cannot become a law He desires silver legislation at this session and if he cannot get all that ho wants he will for the present at least be satisfied with what he can get The bill which the House will pass he says will increase the purchase of silver to 4500000 ounces a month and will make the certificates which are paid for the purchase of bullion legal tender Ho says it will boa bo-a long step in advance of existing conditions con-ditions and is all that can be expected at the present time |
