Show THE DENflALTEK RIFLES They Drill with Great Precision and Then Dance with Great Vim The Denhalter rifles gave an exhibition dril1 and concert at the Exposition bal last evening Companies A and B were under the command of Captain Sharkey acting major in the absence ab-sence of Major Denhalter through illness and Lieutenant Smith as adjutant The bntallion drill was the feature of tbe evening and the boys did it with wonderful precIsion better than they have ever done before They also went through the manual of anna and company drill and finished with a full dress parade and a series of military evolutons and marching The Denhalters it will be remembered competed at the fair and tneir performances last evening were even better than those a the show and do infinite credit to Lieutenant Wright the drill master The Denhalter cadet I full regimental band of twentytwo pieces with Mr Parker as drum major performed during I I the evening There were about fifty of the I i friends of the rifles present and also the Den I halter guards ladies company C were thef in force as spectators II Dancing was engaged in and a very pleasant evening was spent Ten new members sicni ned their wish to join the companies thus bringing the number up to about fifty On the evening of November 26 the rifles will drill for the prize medals at the Exposition bal and judging by their performances last evening ing It will be a meeting well worth attend |
