Show HE TOOK ATUMBLE1 f Officer Cantlin Goes Through a Skylight i J J WHILE HUNTING BURGLARS The Third District Court Quiet and the Police and Probate Courts are Dull and lifeless At about 3 oclock yesterday morning Sergeant Cantlin Officer Wire and Night watchman Dobson thought they discovered evidences that somebody was in the office of the street railway company on Main street An officer was immediately posted at the front and rear doors of the building while Sergeant Cantlin climbed on top of the one story building occupiedby Burns Naylor Hill as a barber shop to prevent the supposed intruder from escaping by jumping out onto the roof of that building While walking across the roof the officer fell through a skylight to tho floor below His brother officers were soon at his side and an examination showed that he had been badly cut about tho face and body by broken glass while several severe bruises had been sustained The injured man was taken to St Marys hospital hos-pital where Dr wcaeham dressed his wounds which though very painful are not serious After the excitement which followed the accident had subsided it was found that a ladder had been placed against the building build-ing in which the railroad companys ofiico is situated and it is believed that it was placed there by some one who intended to burglarize the office but if there was anyone any-one in the place at the time of the accident the noise scared him off Late last night it was learned that Cat Uns injuries were more serious than was at first supposed but it is believed that he will pull through all right |
