Show UTAH COUNTY NOTES The territorial fair is attracting a little attention It is a great drawback that the Desarot Agricultural association has not means sufficient to publish something in the newspapers about the fair so the farmers might know what the association is trying to do Some of the loading stock men of Spanish Span-ish Fork Paysen and Benjamin had a meeting at the Greecewood farm a few days ago for the purpose of trying to get a county show of the stock in our county It has been very dry in Utah county although crops are about an average Grasshoppers have done considerable damage dam-age to lucern seed in Benjamin yet there will be a very good crop Improvements at atBenamin progressing progress-ing very fast Three brick yards have been in full blast all summer yet a great many buildings have to lie over for want of brick and other material and mechanics mechan-ics A great many newcomers have bought land in Benjamin among the number are quite a colony of wealthy Swedes who have paid the cash for a great deal of land One of the great attractions of Benjamin are the artesian wells of pure water that do not cost more than ol5 and very rich land that does not require irrigation irri-gation for lucern nor to grow trees After the trees have been planted two or three years they grow thrifty without water It is a great place for bees and first class honey There is the largest tract of good land between Parson and Spanish Fork that there is in one place in Utah and plenty f water The building boom has reached Payson PArsoN Sept 17 180 S |
