Show OF DREAD DIPHTHERIA James N Woods of this city Dies of it on Sunday Last James N Woods son of James C and Sarah Woods of the Tenth ward died at his residence January 4 about noon from malignant diphtheria Deceased was born in this city November 26 18G3 and was therefore aged a little over 27 years He leaves a young wife to whom ho was married mar-ried only eight months since The deceased was actively useful in tho ward in which he resided having been connected with its I various organizations He was a Sunday school teacher a member of the deacois quorum Mutual Improvement association the choir and tho brass baud His illness dated from Christmas day when he was seized with the malady that carried him off His death is a shock to his numerous friends of about his own age especially and words cannot describe tOe feelings of the bereaved parents He was so vigorous vigor-ous so full of life and promise of future usefulness that his demise has cast a gloom over the whole neighborhood The remains re-mains were laid to rest yesterday afternoon |
