Show MONTANAS MUDDLE The Second Session of the Legislature Legis-lature Jonvenes Two Houses Organized The Governor Gov-ernor Recognizes the Democratic Organization Organi-zation Eepublican Threats HELENA Mont Jan 5Special telegram tele-gram to TiE HEKALDJ The second session ses-sion of the Montana legislature convened today and as expected the house divided The Democrats organized and recognized the five representatives from Silver Bow whom the Republicans endeavored to unseat un-seat last winter The Repulicans also organized and recognized their alleged representatives from Silver Bow The senate is composed of ten Democrats and six Republicans It was called to order by Lieutenantdiovernor Rickards at noon and an organization effected without difficulty diffi-culty Each branch of the house sent committees com-mittees to notify the senate of their action but the senate by a strict party vote recognized the Democratic house as a legally leg-ally constituted house of representatives and ignoring the Republican house The governor recognizes the senate and Democratic Demo-cratic house as the legislature and will deliver his message tomorrow The Democrats do not propose to be thwarted by the stubborn action of the Republicans but will go ahead and enact laws notwithstanding notwith-standing the threat that the Republicans will appeal to the supreme court to annul all measures enacted The former decis sion of the court is to the effect that all measures voted upon by the five Democrats from Silver Bow are void |
