A PUBLIC BUILDING Delegate Caine Still Pushing fh Bill INFORMAL TALK ON THE SUBJECT President Harrison and Speaker Keens Opposition Oppo-sition to Pnblic Building Bills Tho Indian In-dian Home at Fort Washington WASHINGTON Dec lSSpeciai telegram to TIIEHERLjAmeetingof the House committee com-mittee on public buildings and grounds was ca led for this morning but a quorum not being present no business was transacted Delesrato Caine was present urge the bringing forward of the Salt Lake public building bill at the first opportunity He had an informal talk with the members present Chairman MHlIden sad both the President and Speaker Reed wore opposed op-posed to public building bills the committee was powerless to do anything In oppositltn to the speaker and it was exccedinglj doubtful if Reed would allow anymore public building bills to be brought up during this Congress It transpires that there was no good reason for this opposition as neither the number of bills passed during this Congress nor the amount ot the appropriations involved was as great as during the Fiftieth Congress when the House was Democratic
