| Show I Ogden City Council OGDEN Utah Nov 7fSpecial telegram to THE HERAID Council met pursuant to adjournment Present Aldermen Pre sbaw Whalen Shilling Fell Snyder Councilmen Hurlbut Anderson Zeimer Corey Chapman Hand In the absence of layor Kiesel Alderman Shilling was elected chairman for the evening Minutes of previous meeting read and approved The following petitions were placed before be-fore the council Ogden City Electric light company asked the council to reconsider I recon-sider its former action Committee on public works In the matter of lighting streets by the Citizens Electric Light company Referred to committee on public works Several citizens asked the council to citzens counci appoint ap-point Thomas W Collins fri warden To committee on fire department On account of the burning of their build ing on the corner of Grant bUidj Twentyfifth street J D Lewis Co requested re-quested the council to refund their unused water tax amounting to 535 To committee commit-tee on wator supply Committee on fire department reported that owing to so many applicants it was impossible im-possible for them to select a chief of the fire department and requested the council to ballot on the candidates On a vote of the council H W Rhodes was elected I On recommendation of the committee on I public buildings the council granted the I use of Lester park pavilion to the drum i corps for occasional practice I The following bills were allowed Super intendent of streets 09055 public grounds 15520 hospital steward S2S Jailor Tackett boarding prisoners 12253 Jailor Tackett boarding patients In the hospital 87040 street supervisor 69333 city sexton 05 hay forfire department 26 freight on sewer pipes 17443 freight on smver pipes 157lithographing 75 freight on lumber 3030 and other minor bills A petition was presented that the Hen derson Electric Street rail way company be Instructed to lay their tracks on the south side that of the Ogden City company on Twentyfifth street and on the east side on Washington avenue and on all other streets to the right on those running north and south from the centerof the city A motion to reconsider the proposition at the Citizens Electric Light company u place lamps on North Washington avenue was laid over one week A resolution was adooted granting the Bear River Lake and River water works company all unpaid taxes and bills from October The matter of r rapping Ogden river bridge was referred the street committee with power to act Council adjourned till November 13 |
