non Mormon religious denomina tions are looking forward and in many instance with anxiety to the inauguration of good free public schools so that their primary school may be given up the authorities of the Mormon church are inaugurating a sytem of church schools which arc calculated to draw the children of the members of that church away from the district schools The dislike of the distric schools seems to be based to a large extent upon the fact that sectarian books are pro lubitcd therein If this policy of withdrawal be persisted in the district scho jls will be greatl I crippled as there are several times as man children of Mormon parents as there are of non Mormon parents It is to be hoped that wise < counsels and better judgment will prevail and that the policy will be abandoned and that the true American policy of providing free pUblic schools for all shall be encouraged and adopted This being obliterated they recommended that 500 copies be printed Mr Kimball did
