Show FUNERAL OF MRS BURTON The Lion house was crowded by an Jm mense throng yesterday on the occasion of the funeral services over the remains of Mrs Julia Burton whose sad death in England was chronicled by THE HEIUID The exercises were most feeling and impressive im-pressive and the heavj attendance of sympathizing friends told of the great esteem and affection with which the deceased de-ceased was regarded The speakers were Apostle John Henry Smith Bishop Whit Aposte ney and President George Q Cannon and praj ers were uttered bi Apostle Heber J Grant and President M Cannon An i iiapressiv feature was the music of the ipressive I occasion a quartette of ladies Mrs Pups Icy Miss Thomas Miss Dean and Miss Pratt and another of gentlemen Messrs Easton Whitney Goddard and Spencer rendering separate selections and uniting t give the beautiful hymn written by Bishop Whitney and composed by Professor Profes-sor Careless specially for the occasion Mr Stephens presided and the touching character of the music was a fitting tribute t the memoi j of one who had always been an ardent lover of the art and a warm personal per-sonal friend of most of the singers Some beautiful floral emblems were presented and an immense line of carriage followed the remains to the grave where Rest was sung and the last resting place dedicated bi Apostle Grant |
