Waterworks System SECTION 1 Be it ordained by the City Council Coun-cil of Salt Lake City That before any farther extension of the Waterworks System of the city is ordered to be made the Mayor under the direction of the City Council shall publish a notice for at least twenty days in a newspaper published pub-lished within rfatd city describing the boundaries of the district to be affected or benefited by such extension and describing the character location and extent of the same with the estimated cost and designate desig-nate the time fixed by the Council for determining de-termining whether the proposed extension shall be made If on before tho time so fixed forhoar ing written objections to the making of such extension have not been signed by the owners of onehalf In value of the property so to be affected or benefited as shown by the last preceding city assessment roll and filed with the City Recorder the Council may in its discretion order the making of such extension and the cost therefor shall be defrayed by levying local tax upon the lots pieces of ground abutting upon or adjacent to the street or street along I which the water mains are laid and extending extend-ing to the centre of the block parallel with the said mains or otherwise if tho City Council shall so order at a rate not to exceed ex-ceed four mills per square foot of ground which shall be paid by the owners of said I land Provided That when water from said mains is used upon the land BO taxed the water rote for the same unless hereafter I changed shall be twentyfive percent less than the water rates as now fixed by ordinance ordin-ance I Ito 2 The Assessor and Collector of I Salt Lake City is hereby constituted the Assessor and Collector of said rater taxes I SEC 8 All said water taxes or special assessments made levied and assessed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance I or-dinance and trio costs of collecting the same shall attach to and constitute a lien I upon and against the property so Assessed from and after the date of assessment and I they shall become delinquent at the expiration expira-tion of sixty days from the date of asseu ment of the same
