Show THE BOODLERS Warrants for the Arrest oft of-t e Board of 1884 I IN THE INTEREST OF REFORM Sympathized With the Editors Ilon izlng the Boycottera The StockYard Stock-Yard Striker Other Notes The Boodle Aldermen NEW YORK October 12At half past i 9clock this afternoon Inspector Byrnes7 received a bulky package from the District Attdru 7a office It contained District Attorney tained an order from the torney accompanied by beSO x Far rants for the arrest of all boodle i aldermen of the board of 1881 save for Henry L Sayles whose flight to Canada Can-ada has inspired the crusade the prosecution of which was thus placed in the hands of InspectOr ByrnesCounselfor the boodlers plead against an increase in the amount of bail but the court decided to make it 10000 in each case Alderman Kirk who had come in voluntarily in the meantime at once gave bail and went away Then one after the other detectives de-tectives brought in Aldermen Miller 1 Cleary McQuade and McCabe Of Ii i I these Cleary McCabe and McQuade secured I se-cured additional bait I during the early evening Farley and Miller were unable to furnish added security and were locked in the tombs for the night Later on Aldermen Spiels ONeiil and Reilly were arrested and locked up Thus far nine have been rearrested and disposed of as stated and there yet remain to be arrested as reported Duffey Fink Fullgruff and Wennell The case of the absent Sayles has been placed on the calendar for tomorrow 1 |
