Show Good for the Northern Pacific Washington 6The report of the judiciary ju-diciary committee of the House upon the Northern Pacific land grants takes the ground that under the limitations of the granting act the sole right which remains in the United States at the present time is the right by its Congress to do any and all acts which may be needful and necessary neces-sary to insure the speedy completion of the road After a careful review of the condition of the road and what it has accomplished ac-complished the committee roach the conclusion that it would not be advisable to give its land grant to another company com-pany or to sell them and apply the proceeds pro-ceeds to the completion of the road that the early completion of the road will be more readily accomplished by the policy of noninterference on the part of government gov-ernment and they therefore recommend that no further legislation is necessary o r advisable |
